Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

SiteSentry ("we", "us") provides website uptime, SSL, and broken-link monitoring. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address (via our authentication provider, Clerk). When you add a site to monitor, we store the URL you provide. When you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects billing information necessary to process your payment — we do not store your card details ourselves.

How we use it

We use your email to send you monitoring alerts (downtime, SSL expiry) and a weekly summary email. We use the URLs you provide solely to perform the monitoring checks you've requested. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate SiteSentry: Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure), Clerk (authentication), Resend (email delivery), our payment processor (billing), and WhoisJSON (SSL certificate lookups). Each of these providers processes limited data solely to perform their function within our service.

Public status pages

If you enable a public status page for a site, that page displays the site's URL and up/down status publicly. It never displays your account email or any other personal information.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records).
